Golden Yoga is designed for people over 60 years of age, and/or those who have physical limitations, who wish to start practicing yoga. Each Golden Yoga class begins by allowing us the time and space we need to become aware of our wonderful bodies and our all-important breath. At this point we also pay attention to our physical alignment and notice tactile sensations. We then start moving with some gentle warm up stretching, allowing us to prepare for the more energetic part of the class. Then, we spend time practicing classical yoga “asanas” (traditional physical yoga postures) and perhaps some “pranayama” (yogic breathing techniques). Classes conclude with a well-deserved deep and restorative relaxation. This practice will be done sitting on a chair which makes it more accessible to all.
